Barbara Bernard is American by birth, but has lived in England since 1971. She studied art in Beloit, Wisconsin. She has recently moved from Chiswick, London to East Anglia and is currently concentrating on painting in oils. A selection of her paintings can be seen at the Southwold Gallery, Southwold, Suffolk.

She has exhibited in the New English Art Club Open Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London and at the Stables Gallery, Twickenham. For many years, she participated in “Artists at Home”, open studios in the Chiswick area over a weekend in June. She now belongs to the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail collective on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

Barbara is an avid needlewoman, designing fashion knitwear in the 1970’s and 80’s, and now designs in needlepoint tapestry. She offers a tapestry design service, specialising in architectural subjects, ie house portraits.
